London’s Stansted airport was evacuated this Saturday by the fire of a bus that was parked outside the airport facilities. The fire started as many families were arriving in the British capital to start the Easter holidays. All flights have been canceled.
Although the initial information indicated that the flight situation was normal, and even asserted that the airport activity would not be affected, at night Stansted Airport made public a tweet in which it recognized that all the movements foreseen by the Afternoon had been canceled and passengers were asked to leave the airport.
The images released by the British press showed passengers carrying their suitcases and leaving Stansted on their own feet after many had spent hours trying to figure out if they could fly. The terminal near the car park where the bus caught fire was partially affected by the smoke.
